BIO
A.N.J.A., the German-born and Belfast-based singer, is a dynamic burst of raw energy, captivating audiences with unhinged, anthemic tunes.
With her dark, hypnotic sound, she’s guiding them into her own occultish imaginarium towards the edges of the underworld with a fearless, electrified spirit.
Laced with grit and dripping with realness, Anja Romer, the driving force behind A.N.J.A., is harkening back to retro punk and garage, psych and stoner rock while boldly facing the
real-life horrors of our uncertain present.
With her often powerful, sometimes sultry vocals, evil riffs and a badass attitude, she effortlessly combines coolness with mystical tinges all the while radiating fierce feminine energy and unapologetic confidence.
A.N.J.A. draws inspiration not only from folklore and classic horror cinema but also from themes encompassing
transformation, empowerment,
and the chilling dystopian realities of everyday life.
Her creative source is further fueled by influential artists such as
Queens of the Stone Age, Masters of Reality, The Velvet Underground, L7, Jack White, Iggy and the Stooges, PJ Harvey, and The Cramps.
Her singles "Monoxide" in July 2021, "A-Bomb" in June 2022 and “Witchmother” in early 2023 showcased her unpolished and electrifying sound. Since then, she has steadily ascended the local music scene, making her mark with a series of powerful and
memorable live performances on renowned stages throughout Northern Ireland's capital with her 4-piece live band.
A.N.J.A. released her debut EP
